THRUSTMASTER TS-XW RACER SPARCO P310 Competion Wheel: The best sim racing wheel

This is going to be a fun article. The Thrustmaster TS-XW Racer Sparco Competition Wheel, or simply the 'Racer', is a racing wheel that claims to offer not only accurate force feedback but also very strong resistance from the motor itself. So let's find out whether those statements are true!

TS-XW RACER SPARCO P310 First impressions

The Racer arrives in a green and black box with just the 'Racer' logo as well as Thrustmaster's name, both of which are embossed on top. It has a side profile shot of the wheel itself but otherwise there isn't much mention of what you're getting yourself into.

The RS-XW Racer is packaged very tightly, with a molded plastic shell protecting the outside of it from scratches or damage from other parts. It almost looks like an artifact from an ancient moment in history, having been shrunken down to fit within all of its protective casing.

You can see that there are two cutouts for both the wheel as well as the metal paddle shifters.

The front of the box has a large sticker affixed at an angle, giving information on force feedback, rotation angle, and compatibility with other products. This is something I would have liked to have seen at the back of the box as well.

THRUSTMASTER TS-XW RACER SPARCO P310 Competition Mode - Installation

The Racer comes with its power supply, which is nice since you won't need to hunt one down that doesn't fry your system or component. Just plug-and-play it. The motor has a red LED light for when it's powered up and there isn't much else to talk about here except that the cable is super short.

Another interesting, unique feature that Thrustmaster has built into this Wheel pedal set is a screwdriver with an Allen key head on it. The screwdriver also doubles as the axle for the pedals and so you will need to use the included tool to tighten and loosen or even fully remove it! It's pretty cool that they went that extra step to include the tool, but it's a little clunky and unnecessary since you need it to remove your pedals.

With everything plugged in, let's talk about the Pedals themselves!

Like almost every other pedal set on the market today, these have floor-mounted rubber feet to stabilize them from sliding around your floor. I would have liked to see the rubber feet removable so you can adjust the angle of "incline" for each pedal, but unfortunately, they aren't. It's a small inconvenience, but it does exist and is worth mentioning here.

Force Feedback: The Most Important Feature To Create A Realistic Driving Simulation

Force feedback is arguably one of the most important features to create a realistic driving simulation.

You won't be able to go anywhere without the TS-XW, one of the best Racing steering wheel I have ever tested. It's that good!

Whether it’s off-road or on road, you'll feel every little movement with precision and responsiveness - just like an actual car would react in real life. Plus there are so many features for customization which makes this wheel stand out even more among its competitors.

The feedback comes with a lot of force and a great deal of resistance from the power you're trying to push it. Feels like you're really pushing through something substantial, which is exactly what force feedback should be! I had no problems with any overshooting or vibration effect while racing. It's easily adjustable though if that does happen by using the 3 on-board buttons - but I never had to use them.

THRUSTMASTER TS-XW RACER SPARCO Pedals Overview

The pedals work well too, giving you the appropriate reaction time for when you let off or hit the gas pedal quickly. The brake pedal has progressive resistance, meaning that it increases in response as you give it more pressure. It's so easy to change gears with this wheel because it’s so easy to navigate and find what you’re looking for with the buttons attached to the wheel.

I like that the pedals are adjustable and you can customize your driving position accordingly. This is a great feature because I know some gamers will prefer to lay their feet flat on the ground no matter what height they are - and this option allows that. This is not something that can be found on most other racing wheels out there.

THRUSTMASTER TS-XW RACER SPARCO P310 Performance

With the TS-XW RACER SPARCO Racing Wheel, you're getting a high-quality, durable and responsive racing wheel with unique features to make your sim racing experience much more realistic than ever before.

You can customize the wheel to give you more grip and less drift. You can even use a button on the wheel to make your gas pedal work as a clutch; because, why not? It's super easy and incredibly effective for any gamer looking for that extra edge against their opponents.

In terms of responsiveness, I had no problem with the force feedback and I found it very easy to control my car with this racing wheel.

It was always in sync and felt proper throughout all of my races. Even at maximum speed, the motion technology never stopped working for me or seemed to slow down or skid off course - which is a huge plus! This expensive racing wheel is worth it!

Conclusion - Is it worth buying TS-XW RACER SPARCO P310?

If you are looking for a high-quality, durable, and responsive racing wheel with unique features to make your sim racing experience much more realistic than ever before then the TS-XW RACER SPARCO P310 Racing Wheel is totally worth it.
