TP-Link launches the Archer AX6000 and the Archer AX11000, new routers for 802.11AX standard

TP-Link unveiled the new series of 802.11ax Wi-Fi compatible routers - the Archer AX6000 and Archer AX11000, with support for speeds of 1148 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 4804 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, an approximaly 2.8x higher speeds compared to 802.11ac.

Each of these two consumer routers come with different features to satisfy all your needs, either normal internet usage or more intesive usage such as games streaming. Let’s have a look at the two models and you can decide for yourself wich one (if any) would best fit your needs.

The Archer AX6000

Combined with the new 802.11ax Wi-Fi technology, including the 1024QAM, HT160 and 4x OFDMA Symbol Longer, the Archer AX6000 reaches the highest level of performance on the market. Wireless speed is faster than ever, resulting in a transfer rate of 1148 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 4804 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, which means reaching a speed of 2.8x higher compared to 802.11 needle.

According to the manufacturer, the Archer AX6000 optimizes every detail of the network connection to significantly improve its efficiency, ensuring a higher speed of 4x on devices connected in dense environments, while increasing network capacity and efficiency. In addition, BSS Color technology reduces interference between different routers in open environments, thus providing more stable connections.

The AX6000 has a 2.5 Gbps WAN port and eight Gigabit LAN ports for cable connections. The eight external antennas promise stronger Wi-Fi signal and increased Wi-Fi coverage. Device functions are provided with a 1.8 GHz 64-bit quad-core processor, assisted by three co-processors and 1 GB RAM.

The AX6000 has advanced security features - TP-Link HomeCare powered by Trend MicroTM. TP-Link HomeCare technology comes with antivirus, parental control and QoS, which helps protect sensitive data and IoT devices from digital intruders. The security database is updated automatically.

The Archer AX11000

The Archer AX11000 is the first TP-Link gaming router with 802.11ax technology. It takes over all the features and functions of the AX6000.

The AX11000 is a three-band router capable of reaching (theoretical) speeds of up to 11000 Mbps. The device allows users to dedicate one lane to gaming traffic, while the other two provide high-speed Wi-Fi for the rest of the home.

The AX11000 features a 1.8 GHz 64-bit quad-core processor, assisted by three co-processors and 1 GB RAM, along with 512 MB Flash.

By switching to Gaming mode in QoS settings, the AX11000 will prioritize gaming devices to ensure optimum performance. In addition to Gaming mode, you can also set certain high priority devices to avoid slowing down performance from other devices. Additionally, you can use the built-in VPN client to speed up games and other online activities. By installing a VPN for TP Link router, users can make their connection more secure and protect their data from possible leaks.

Two LAN ports can be grouped to double the connection speeds from 1 Gbps to 2 Gbps using the Link Aggregation feature.

The AX11000 supports TP-Link HomeCare Powered by Trend Micro, protecting each device from the latest computer threats, embedded antivirus and advanced intrusion prevention.
