Entertainment Company DMM Expands Mining Operations
Great news for miners and people investing on the cryptocurrency mining market. DMM Group, a big e-commerce and internet company, announced that it will be establishing a specialty lab for cryptocurrency mining.
However, that is not all that DMM had to share. The company also revealed that it has more development plans when it comes to its mining operations. The new "specialty lab" will be called DMM Mining Labo. DMM Group is known as the operator of DMM.com, which is actually one of the most popular e-commerce websites at the moment. DMM.com has a total of 27 million members.
The company explained that DMM Mining Labo is willing to "achieve the highest per unit hash power" for its mining operations. The company claimed that its team will be focused on making all kind of experiments with the purpose to enhance performance. Furthermore, the company revealed that it is interested in making its own mining machines.
The new lab will research mining machines
DMM also claimed that its lab's team will conduct research on all type of mining machines and after, tests can determine which can bring the best power at the lowest electricity consumption. Cryptocurrency mining has been linked to a lot of criticism due to the high electricity cost that mining operations commonly have.
The statement from DMM said that:
“In the foreseeable future, the goal of DMM Mining Labo is to achieve the highest per unit hash power for our machines. Realizing this goal will enable DMM to optimize its common interests with investors and potential customers for the cloud mining services, which DMM will be offering. In the long-term future, DMM is examining options for manufacturing of their original mining machines, expanding operations beyond use of ready-made units.”
The fact that DMM was interested in expanding its cryptocurrency mining operations was first revealed by the company last year. Back in September, DMM said that it was going to launch a mining farm. Now, the company officially revealed that it wants to work with the biggest manufacturing companies. DMM also said that it will keep on experimenting with new technologies and thus it is open to proposals.
